Spring
Spring is a time of renewal, and Yarra City celebrates this with a number of events. One highlight is the Collingwood Children's Farm Farmers' Market. If you're after something more relaxed, why not take a stroll through one of Yarra City's beautiful parks? The Botanic Gardens and Fitzroy Gardens are both lovely spots for a picnic or a walk among the autumn leaves.
Winter
Winter in Yarra City may be chilly, but it's also full of warmth and cheer. One of the most festive events is the Gertrude Street Projection Festival. This free event sees local artists and designers transform the street's buildings into vibrant works of art. There's also live music, food stalls, and roving performers to enjoy.
Another winter highlight is the Melbourne International Jazz Festival. Held at various venues across the city, this festival showcases some of the best jazz musicians from around the world. Yarra City's own Bennetts Lane Jazz Club is a must-visit for jazz lovers.
Of course, winter is also the perfect time to indulge in some hearty comfort food. Yarra City has no shortage of great restaurants and pubs where you can warm up with a hearty meal and a glass of red wine.
